Black Bean Soup

A thermos filled with thick, hearty Black Bean Soup, some organic tortilla chips, a kiwi fruit, and two organic lemon poppyseed cookies from the grocery store.
Verdict: I think I found the balance with this one -- not too many cookies (one for each hand!), and enough good food to keep him nice and full until after school. "It's all in my tummy, mom! Can you pack that again tomorrow?" 5 stars.

We had the coconut cake from your main blog for my wife's birthday last week. Very good!

  8. Black Bean Soup! Oh, yum! My mother used to make this for us. I adore it. I can't believe I've forgotten about this.I'm going to go call mom and get her recipe and make some for the kids. (I'll try yours, as well, but right now I'm having a nostalgia moment. LOL)

We used to eat a lot of bean soups during the lean years...I love beans!
