Book Update

Some of you may have noticed that Vegan Lunch Box has been on backorder these last two weeks. That's right -- our first printing actually sold out in just 3 months, far exceeding all our expectations. Thanks again to everyone who bought a copy, recommended it to their friends, and wrote wonderful reviews on Amazon.

I'm now happy to report that the second printing has arrived and all backorders will be packaged this weekend for shipment on Monday afternoon.

Yes, the delivery truck pulled up and once again our dining room, living room, bedroom, and garage are filled with lovely brown boxes. They add that special touch to our home decor and make it impossible for me to fully open my closet door. Please help me reclaim my living space by buying a copy today!

I absolutely love your blog & enjoy reading about the lunches you pack your son. I am 25 & most of the recipes sound really good to me. Do you by chance have your Vegan Twinkie recipe anywhere on the site?

  3. I clicked the "international address" option, but PayPal still forced me to enter a domestic shipping address. I put the (Canadian) shipping address in the "comments to seller" field, but noticed that no postage had been charged. I hope that this does not delay shipment.

  4. I was lucky enough to get a cookbook from the first printing for christmas, and I love it! Congrats on the success of the book!

Oh, and you can find the twinkie recipe here:

  5. For those international buyers, there is a drop down box on the PayPal payment screen to select the country being shipped to. Once that is selected, the address fields should change. The default is USA, but once one selects Canada, for example, the fields change from State and Zip Code to Province and Postal Code. Also, if you selected the international shipping link from Jennifer's page, the shipping costs are incorporated into the price of the book...so if your book cost $27.95, you were charged the international postage (Book 22.95 + 5.00 S&H).

But I think in leisureguy's case...it seems like he's in California and shipped to Canada, so I'm not sure if PayPal anticipates billing and shipping addresses that are in two different countries, so maybe that's why they made you enter a domestic shipping address if your billing address was in the US.

  7. Congratulations on your success! The book is fantastic. Our family was so lucky to get ours before you sold out. We love the lentil rice balls and the tofu fish sticks, which my daughter said, You can make those anytime! Thanks again for the wonderful recipes. OH, I got my laptop lunch box Friday. I am so excited to start using it.

  8. You're right, it did charge me $27.95. But I didn't see the link to enter a Canadian address. I did click the link to enter a different shipping address, but that was forced to a US destination (on, I presume, the assumption that a person in the US would not have friends in other countries). :)

At any rate, I hope the book will be shipped appropriately.

  11. Wow, thank you, Zachary! You explained it so well. Sometimes PayPal is a bit daft, that's all I can say.

It also helps to type your address or other special shipping instructions in the optional notes field on your order; that way I'm sure to get it even if PayPal doesn't.
