Sorry I'm a bit late with this one, but my medium apple cozy was at the county fair this week (blue ribbon, baby!) and I wanted to wait until it came home so I could include it in the picture.
Here is the Apple Cozy Pattern (with pear variation) to go with the Banana Cozy and Orange Cozy patterns I already posted. Knit up a whole fruit bowl!
You'll notice I wrote up this pattern in three sizes: small for those wee two-bite apples that are just right for the preschool set, medium for your average apple eater, and large for the biggest of apples or Asian Pears.
Knit on!
How thoughtful and BRILLIANT are you to have done this in three sizes??? I love how adorable our lunches are going to be from now on! I'm linking to this today as well!
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm currently knitting your cool banana cozy and have a few questions. I tried to find your contact info on veganlunchbox.com as directed by your blogger profile but can't for the life of me find it. It's probably staring me in the face. Anyway, is there anyway you can give me your e-mail so I can ask you a few questions about the pattern? Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteSure, it's jmccann@veganlunchbox.com
ReplyDeleteI'm learning how to knit so I can make these awesome fruit cozies!

ReplyDeleteThese patterns are simply delish! And congrats on being recognized by Slashfood.com. I'm off to tell Lime & Violet about these. They need to see them, too!

ReplyDeleteHow nice of you to share this pattern! Thank you so much. They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm so adding this to my Ravelry queue....
ReplyDeleteI've been a long time reader but first time posting on your website. I love it! I follow your advice and tips all the time.
ReplyDeleteHowever, do you sell your apple/orange/banana cozy knits? I don't know how to knit and I don't necessarily have time (I'm doing an accelerated nursing degree program) but would love to buy this to go with my bento lunches!
Thanks!

Hi - I saw a picture of your apple cozies somewhere and searched and searched until I found this pattern! Thank you so much for posting this, it's the cutest thing!
ReplyDeleteI have a question about the instructions and I was wondering if I could contact you about it? I saw you posted your email but I didn't want to presume to use it without permission.
Sure! You can send me an email or post questions here, and I will try to answer asap.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I altered your knitting patterns for crochet and made a couple of adorable apple and banana cozies. I was just writing about this on a blog post I am working on, and I wondered if you'd mind if I uploaded my crochet patterns on my blog? I won't do so without your permission.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely idea. :)
Sure! It's great that you made them crochet -- I can't crochet worth a darn. Please link back to my knitted patterns, too, for all the knitters out there. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'll make sure to link you like crazy. And thanks for being so quick to reply. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, I just wanted to leave you the link to my entry with the crochet apple and banana cozies. Thanks again for allowing me to post them. :)

ReplyDeleteHello! Thanks so much for sharing your knitted fruit cozy pattern! I found your site from Eyespiral (indigophial on Blogger). After a search on Ravelry, I found your pattern and added it to my favourites. =)
ReplyDeleteAlso, what a lovely recipe site you have! I look forward to trying some of your suggestions.
Thanks again, and Cheers,

Hey Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI'm a Vegan(a knitter, crochet goddess, & quilter) and have wanted to add your ckbks to my shelves for quite a while. But for now I am focused on the fruit cozies!!
I love cozies - to knit, crochet, or quilt, and give them as gifts is the best!
I like to go to re-sale shops find ceramic tea pots in good condition, clean them up and make cozies for them, and sometimes it all makes it into a gift basket accompanied by cups, saucers, teas, and recipes for tea breads or cookies or scones, etc. I'm glad I found the fruit cozy patterns - they'll make a nice addition to the gift baskets - thanks!
Thank you for the free pattern. My daughter is using it to get her peach to school hopefully unbruised. She thinks it is way cute. I am inspired to do more to use up stash. Thank you for your generous donations to the ravelry population.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing this cute pattern. My daughter thinks it is way cool and hopefully it will help protect that peach in her back pack. i probably need to make a few more of these. (great for stash busting) Thanks for posting the pattern on ravelry.
