Orange Cozy Pattern

Hey, knitters! As promised in my recent fruit cozy post, I have been hard at work with needles and yarn and have devised an Orange Cozy Pattern for your knitting and lunch-packing pleasure.

This will go nicely in your lunch bag next to the Banana Cozy you may already have knitted up. Get busy, because next week I hope to have a new apple/pear pattern for you, too.

Go Team Yarn!

  6. That fruit cozy is a GREAT idea! Wow!

Someone sent me a copy of your book and I didn't realize it all started with a blog. I have a food blog, too, and I just did a cooking class and a post about kid's lunches. If I'd known about your book BEFORE, I would have totally used some of your ideas.

Please check out my blog. I'd be honored.

  8. Hi! I have been viewing your blog and recipes for quite a while now, and have finally gone vegan. I have a quick question that I hope you could help me with as you are the only person I could think of to ask. I make a green goddess type dressing/spread with silken tofu. I always make too much to use within a week of refrigerator time and was wondering if I could freeze it. I was thinking about putting it in an ice cube tray, and then bagging it once it's frozen. Would that work? Would it taste the same? How would I thaw it out? Anyway, I hope you have an answer for me, and I look forward to seeing more of your delicious lunches!

  9. There's only one way to know for sure: give it a try! I have a suspicion that you may loose a bit in terms of flavor and consistency, but it's certainly worth a shot. It would be better than having to throw some away...

  11. Hi there Jennifer. This is Jane from Viva! and the VVF in the UK - the former an animal campaigning group and the latter a science based health group (bit like a mini PCRM!) We're sister groups and promote veganism - all our recipes and food samples at our events are vegan, although we provide support and resources for new veggies too (and encourage them to progress to veganism of course!)

I have a big favour to ask. We love your blog here at the office (18 vegans here). Recently, I cooked your tofu 'fish' sticks - they were a big hit at the office. Is it possible to use that recipe in our forthcoming guide? It's called 'Fish-Free for Life: Why Plant Omega-3s are Better for You and the Environment' and we would of course credit you, give your website link in both the hard copy version and the web version. We'd also send you a hard copy if you wish.

Whatever you decide, please let me know - and all the best of luck with your blog and book. It's so inspiring to see all these vegan enterprises springing up around the world.

    Kind regards
    Jane (Easton)
