Buy My Lunch Boxes!

Whew, I just spent most of the afternoon photographing and listing eight of my lunch boxes on ebay. It's time to start thinking about what lunch container you're going to use for back-to-school!

Most of these lunch boxes were used to take photographs for my cookbooks -- one is even the cover model for my first book! Some of these were only used once or twice, so they're in perfect condition.

Most are plastic and bento-style lunch boxes, but one is stainless steel and one is a really cool insulated food carrier with four inner containers, like a "Mr. Bento".

Oh, and one set is an accessory bundle: the purple Gel-Cool lunch container was small, so I bundled it with lots of lunch box accessories. They're all small and cute, perfect for a preschool or kindergartner: little forks, little dip and candy containers, pretty food picks, and a hand-sewn napkin.

Don't worry, I still have plenty of lunch boxes left! LOL

I've been looking into buying one, actually! I have your cookbook. :) I love it, so simple. School starts in less than 2 weeks...I better buy one of those laptop lunch boxes soon. I will look tonight or tomorrow. ;)

I recently bought my daughter a tiffin-style lunch container (2-tier) and I'm hoping she doesn't lose things! Any advice on packing those? It will also be a switch not having something to keep food cool... I still have all of our lap top lunches, but she has decided she wants to move on!

I think it's still important to keep her perishable foods cold. I would recommend finding an insulated bag that fits around the tiffin and has room for an ice pack. I think the To-Go Ware people sell bags, but I found a cheap zippered insulated lunch bag at my grocery store that fits around my tiffin.

I leave for work a little after 6:00am, and by the time my break rolls around at 9:30 I'm ready for a breakfasty snack. sportsbookFruit is good, but having access to hot water made me think of instant oatmeal, the kind that comes in little packets flavored with yummy maple and brown sugar. The problem is, most prepackaged instant oatmeal is full of junk, and I HATE oatmeal with salt in it. (My mom never put salt in our oatmeal; the first time I had salty oatmeal at a restaurant I gagged.)So, I decided to try making my own instant oatmeal packets!
