Now if this were my top five, I think this one would be #1. I'm thrilled with how a thermos of Lunch Box Fondue makes eating fresh fruits & vegetables so much fun. Shmoo loves getting those veggies on his fork and dipping them in hot, cheesy fondue.
The veggies are a selection of all his favorite dippers: new potatoes, carrots, Brussels sprouts, and yellow wax beans. The lidded container (barely) holds an apple mixed with chunks of fresh pineapple.
Verdict: One lonely carrot was left rattling around the lunch box. 5 stars for Number 4.

I have been wanting to try your recipe out for awhile and since it made your top 5, I definitely will. Thanks.
Jennifer, someone may have mentioned this before, but have you ever seen those really long forks with the telescoping handles? Makes me think of a lunchbox-sized, expanding fondue fork! Worth investigating for next year?
I love the countdown idea! I'm very impressed that Shmoo will eat yellow wax beans, they are my least favorite bean.
Well, I made the Vegan Loaf for my family tonight. It was a huge success! I won't list all of the ingredients, but I did season it with oregano, cumin, garlic, salt, pepper, and I used cilantro instead of parsley.
Very yummy!
Wow this is a GREAT recipe. I don't think i would have ever thought of anything like this. WOW
Teddy
cheesylicious!
Mmm. Will you be posting anything over the summer break?
Awesome! I still have yet to try that fondue. DH has mentioned it a few times, guess I'll have to do it.
I've been meaning to try this. Thanks for the reminder.
I'm so glad this made it to Shmoo's top 5 list! I've had it a couple of times since you posted the recipe and have used it to make mac n cheese a few times too! Absolutely delicious each time! Now I have to discover if it freezes well or split the recipe.
BTW: email me when you get closer to putting out the book as I'd like to tweak the napkin making tutorial a bit.
Wow, you've made so many wonderful lunchboxes I'm impressed little Shmoo is able to have a top five. I don't know if I could narrow it down.
I will miss the blog over the summer. Have a great summer :)
I was just given your link b/c I had posted asking for food ideas for my 10 month old. We aren't vegan (or even vegetarian) but we have some food allergy issues w/him and were looking for healthy dairy/egg free food ideas. Your site is a great resource and who knows, we just may become a vegan family b/c of it!
>>I'm very impressed that Shmoo will eat yellow wax beans, they are my least favorite bean.
He even likes Italian broad beans, which used to make me shudder when I was a kid.
>>I am betting the soba noodles will make another appearance this week!! :-)
Hmmm, you think? ;-)
Sad lonely carrot! When I was younger, I could never leave 1 of anything...they always had to have a "friend". Don't know why, but I was kinda obsessive about it, even with popcorn.
Looks like a fun lunch!

This would have to be my favorite, too!
